Ironkey Releases D300S – Serialised Flash Drive
Two years ago, the Ironkey D300 was released. In terms of security, the D300 featured some powerful specs, including FIPS 140-2 Level 3 256-bit AES-XTS hardware encryption.
Today, Kingston released an improved version of their industry-leading D300 flash drive. The new flash drive is called the D300S and features a unique serial ID and barcode printed on the back.
The inclusion of serial numbers will allow for simplified administration and management of flash drives, especially in larger organisations with many drives to keep track of. When a drive is sent out or returned, the administrator or manager can simply scan the barcode or update the serial number on a spreadsheet. This will allow them to take note of where the flash drive is.
The addition of serial numbers has been added leading up to Ironkey’s highly anticipated EMS management tool; a form of software which will allow for bulk management of Ironkey and Datalocker products.
